Botanical Watercolor Illustrations

Botanical illustration is one of those areas where I can focus on detail and truly examine nature. I paint by hand in watercolor, observing the shapes of leaves, petals, stems, and the subtle differences that give each plant its own unique character.

I'm interested in both realistic rendering of form and the delicacy and lightness that watercolor offers. I work with layers of transparent paint, building color and detail without sacrificing the naturalness of the paper. This allows my illustrations to remain light and fresh, yet full of fine detail.

We create individual illustrations of plants and flowers, as well as works created for specific occasions or commissions. They can become subtle interior decorations, elements of a larger collection, or a personal gift for someone who loves plants and nature.

Each illustration is hand-painted by me, so even works depicting the same species are not identical. It's in this subtle difference, the brushstroke, and the nature of the handiwork, that I find the illustrations' greatest value.
